Her research interests center on early medieval Irish epigraphy (ogham and insular Latin scripts) and the broader European context, epigraphic palaeography and early Irish language. She incorporates tools and methods from Digital Epigraphy and Digital Humanities generally in her research and is a member of the international <a href=\"https:\/\/epidoc.stoa.org\/\">EpiDoc <\/a>community and Epidoc Action Group (EDAG). She was the Irish postdoc (2021-2024) of the IRC\/AHRC-funded UK-Ireland Digital Humanities project <em><a href=\"https:\/\/ogham.glasgow.ac.uk\">OG(H)AM: Harnessing Digital Technologies to Transform Understanding of Ogham Writing, from the 4th Century to the 21st<\/a><\/em> and co-Investigator on the follow-on project <em><a href=\"https:\/\/gtr.ukri.org\/projects?ref=AH%2FY007387%2F1\">Ogham Palaeography+<\/a><\/em> (<em>Opal+<\/em>). She was also co-investigator with David Stifter on the <a href=\"https:\/\/emili.celt.dias.ie\">EMILI<\/a> pilot project, funded through a Nowlan Digitisation grant from the Royal Irish Academy in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"block-db46e845-2a2b-42f3-93d2-14b4aee02539\">Prof David Stifter<\/h2>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"381\" height=\"363\" src=\"https:\/\/emisos.maynoothuniversity.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/David_Stifter.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-88\" style=\"width:203px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/emisos.maynoothuniversity.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/David_Stifter.jpg 381w, https:\/\/emisos.maynoothuniversity.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/David_Stifter-300x286.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 381px) 100vw, 381px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><strong>Mentor<\/strong><br>David Stifter is Professor of Old Irish and Head of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maynoothuniversity.ie\/school-celtic-studies\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.maynoothuniversity.ie\/school-celtic-studies\">School of Celtic Studies<\/a> at Maynooth University. His research interests lie in Old and Middle Irish language and philology and on the Continental Celtic languages (Celtiberian, Gaulish and Lepontic), in particular language variation and change in Old Irish, Early Irish literature, comparative Celtic lin\u00adguistics, and the development and application of Digital Humanities resources for these languages. His handbook <em>Sen\u00adgo\u00eddelc. Old Irish for Beginners<\/em> (Syracuse University Press 2006) is a popular introduction to Old Irish. His previous projects include the FWF-funded projects <em>Milan Glosses<\/em> (2006\u20132011) and <em>Lexicon Leponticum<\/em> (2009-2011), and the ERC Consolidator Grant project <em>Chronologicon Hibernicum<\/em> (2015\u20132021). Her research interests include Old and Middle Irish, Celtic Studies more broadly, medieval art history, and palaeography (including the development of scripts). She was a research assistant (2023\u20132025) on the UCD-based FLEXI project, working on late medieval Irish law texts. Prior to this she was lecturer of \u2018Celtic Languages\u2019 and \u2018Ancient Ireland\u2019 at UCC in the Department of Early and Medieval Irish, where she had received her MA and completed her thesis \u2018<em>Suidiugad Tigi Midchuarta<\/em>: Edition, Translation, and Notes\u2019.
